Description

PyCifRW provides basic support for reading and writing CIF files using Python.

Status

PyCifRW was developed at the Australian National Beamline Facility (ANBF), run by the Australian Synchrotron Research Program (ASRP), as part of a larger project to provide CIF input/output capabilities for data collection. It is currently (Nov 2004) under active development and testing. Bug reports and feedback should be directed to [email protected].

Language and platform

The software is written in Python and should run on any platform with a suitable Python installation.

Documentation

• Installation: Unpack the distribution to a location where Python can find it (e.g. .../lib/Python2.0/site-packages/PyCifRW in Unix, or C:\Python2.0\Lib\PyCifRW in Windows) Under Unix, you should then add a file 'PyCifRW.pth' in the lib/Python2.0/site-packages directory containing the single line 'PyCifRW'
