Software for CIF and STAR
The software distributed on this CD-ROM includes many of the
programs and libraries available for use with CIF and STAR Files as of
early 2005. The CD-ROM contents provide an archival copy of software
that is no longer under active development, and a snapshot of the many
projects that are currently under active maintenance. However, for active
projects the releases in this collection may rapidly become out of date;
they are supplied primarily to allow a survey and comparison of the
descriptions and documentation of the available programs, and to promote
development of new sofware that complements the tools already available.
Wherever possible, if the user wishes to install and use one of these
utilities, the latest copy of the software should be downloaded from the
Web links found in the description of each program.
