Definition:

   
    This is the parent category of a dictionary group encompassing the
    core publication data items defined and used within the
    Crystallographic Information Framework (CIF). Its child categories
    have a wider application than conventional literature publication,
    and include: the AUDIT categories that carry general metadata
    about the project under which the data set has been generated;
    JOURNAL and PUBL categories, which contain publication material;
    CITATION and COMPUTING categories, which carry subsets of
    reference material used in a publication, and the DATABASE
    categories that facilitate linking between publications and
    curated databases.
