Classification and use of twinning data
Victor G. Young Jr. International Tables for Crystallography (2026). Vol. G, ch. 3.5 [ doi:10.1107/97809553602060001002 ]

Abstract

The twinning CIF dictionary (twinCIF) extends the core CIF dictionary by defining data items sufficient to describe twinning of all crystal specimens. It provides a uniform terminology designed to avoid the confusions that often appear in literature descriptions of twins. The formalism does not currently extend to modulated structures.
