Abstract

This chapter discusses some standalone programs that provide productivity tools to structural scientists who need to work with CIF files. The programs discussed are: publCIF, enCIFer and FinalCIF, which are CIF editing, construction and validation tools; and Mercury and Jmol/JSmol, which visualize and analyse crystal and molecular structures.
