Abstract

X-ray sources include vacuum ultraviolet and extreme ultraviolet sources (gas-discharge lamps and excimer lamps), plasma, electron-impact sources, synchrotron radiation and X-ray free-electron lasers. The advantages and disadvantages of each are considered.
